All Things Must End
The leaves in the shaded wood turned brown,
As I looked to the dreary sky with a frown.
The winter came in a gust of hail and snow
As I looked to the trees the branches seemed to flow.
As the cold seemed to slowly creep,
I could not help but to simply weep.
Like the heat from my breath the question of mortality rose,
And like everything around me my heart stood still and froze.
I let the feeling pass as I did before,
For I had so much in my life I couldn’t want more.
My wife and child awaited my return at home;
Plus, I knew everything would come to an end, just like this poem.
